This is the first time I’ve ever done yearly favorites. And it didn’t take me long to be amazed by what I read, listened to, and watched this year.
For someone who measures their years by school years, it’s weird to even consider the actual calendar year.
I track the books I read through goodreads, so there’s some issues in capturing my entire favorites for the following reasons.
- I only put books I’ve finished or come close to finishing in goodreads
- If a book isn’t good, I don’t finish it.
So, the only books that made it to my goodreads are those that I actually enjoy. It’s difficult not to include all those books, so I am going to select one for each of the following categories:
- Most impactful
- The best read
- All-around champion

The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown
This book alleviated all my social anxiety — that’s something months of therapy and tens self-help books couldn’t do. It was through this book that I began on a journey of self-love and worked to believe that I deserve love and belonging.
